We hire slowly and on purpose. Most of this work happens at somebody's front entrance while their business is trying to trade, so we look for steady hands, readable handwriting on a finding sheet, and the patience to diagnose before reaching for a catalogue.

Commercial Door Technician
Aluminum storefront and hollow metal work: pivots, hinges, thresholds, frame straightening, closers, locksets, and the diagnostic habits that tell a geometry problem from a hardware problem.

Automatic Door Service Technician
Sliding and swing operators, low-energy units, sensor and safety commissioning, and the annual inspection routine that comes with them. An electrical or controls background transfers extremely well.

Hardware and Fire Door Specialist
Exit devices, mortise and cylindrical locksets, electrified hardware, and rated assemblies where the repair has to preserve the listing and stand up to an inspector's questions.
- 04
Service Coordinator
Scoping incoming requests, extracting the details technicians actually need, managing PO references and vendor portals, and telling customers the truth when a window slips.
Non-negotiables
- A valid license and a driving record clean enough for daily mobile field work.
- Full background check. This trade puts you inside other people's buildings after hours.
- Comfort with a tape, a level, and writing down what they said, every visit.
- The discipline to diagnose before replacing. Parts-cannon technicians do not last here.
- Plain, calm communication with staff who are stressed and mid-shift.
- Real care around finished surfaces — glass, storefront finish, flooring, and paint that is not yours.
- Willingness to work the occasional pre-opening or post-close window when a site needs it.
About experience
Direct commercial door experience helps but is not the only route in. This crew arrived from glazing, commercial electrical, institutional maintenance, and retail facilities coordination. What carried over was mechanical instinct, showing up when promised, and being willing to learn an assembly properly instead of guessing at it.
